About this deal

The Sigma feels ever-so-slightly nicer in the hand, however, due to slightly more upscale materials on the barrel. If you’re on a tight budget, this lens is a winner and if you want to have a lens for carrying around all day that’s comfortable and lightweight I think this is the obvious choice.

L-Mount Lenses for Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma The Best L-Mount Lenses for Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma

If you thought that ‘compact system cameras’ were relatively small and lightweight, Panasonic’s S series bodies will make you think again, and this lens is frankly enormous for a 50mm prime, weighing in at almost a kilogram. While conventional wisdom states that it is more difficult to ensure processing accuracyfor plastic parts than metal parts, there has been no compromise whatsoever with the build qualityof thislens. Nicknamed the ‘light bazooka’, Sigma launched a relatively compact and lightweight 100-400mm zoom for Canon and Nikon DSLRs back in 2017.Occasionally you’ll have the lens adjust to infinity and then come back into the subject, but I only had this issue shooting in dimly lit situations and after that brief period of racking, the finished photo was still accurately focused. aperture is ideal for low light and defocused backgrounds, while superior sharpness allows the lens to capture excellent detail, even when working with high-resolution bodies.

Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Review | Photography Blog

Any interchangeable lens camera system needs a decent portrait prime in its ranks, and Panasonic's Lumix S 85mm F1. As with its siblings, this lens has an exceptionally well finished black anodised metal barrel which is sturdy, robust and fully weather-sealed. The construction features multiple weather-seals and is dust- and moisture-resistant, it combines intuitive handling with fast autofocus and impressive image quality, making it an ideal ultra-wide-angle lens for architectural interiors, sweeping landscapes, astrophotography and more besides. Focusing is usefully internal and manual focusing is possible when set via the Focus switch on the lens barrel. If you’re satisfied by the 28-70 range in a general lens, the Sigma DG DN is sharp in the middle and only softens in the extreme corners with the aperture wide-open, where you’ll also notice darkening due to vignetting. The lens has a plastic shell with a mixture of metallic parts and a compound material, TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), used inside.
