If it was designed in Germany then it would be functional and probably excellent, if it had been Scandinavian then it would have been beautiful, and if it had been conceived in Japan then it would have been a technological marvel. I'm not sure if this is meant to be some sort of battery saving feature or something but it makes the speakers unusable for anything other than music and I'm a massive podcast fan so unless I have a defective unit I will be asking for a refund. The sound quality is absolutely brilliant after adjusting and balancing the volumes between the phone and speaker I was truly amazed at the power and tone of this little speaker . I prefer the design of the first one in terms of the power button as you have to press and hold this one to turn it on and off, rather than just flicking a switch, although having all the buttons together on the top is handy.
