About this deal

The term plug is in general and technical use in all forms of English, common alternatives being power plug, [1] electric plug, [2] A small number of marinas provide 230V single-phase power through a red three-phase connector (breaking the relevant standards in the process). This goes some way to ensuring that only boats that have paid the required fee (and thus obtained an appropriately made-up adaptor cable) are able to use the electricity. A 5 pin plug can be fitted to the Satellite 650, but inside the plug, there will be no wire to the centre pin anyway, so no point.

Now lets consider the case of a star connected load without neutral. It turns out the circuit will behave exactly the same as above, since there was no current in the neutral removing it will have no impact on the voltages in the system. Each of the loads will still have 230V RMS across it and they will still draw 3KW each for a total of 9KW Main article: SN 441011 SEV 1011:2009, overview of the hierarchical Swiss System for household and similar purposes lloyd-grossman-accent]Who would buy something like that to use in a rented house?[/lloyd-grossman-accent]So if the OP's oven does take anything approaching 32A per phase it makes it even more odd - I just googled for commercial smoking ovens, and the first link I looked at was an Australian company, and they have a 21kW model. You might think this would give a total of 15A per phase but you would be wrong! because the two loads are drawing currents from the phase that are 60 degrees out of phase with each other and so partially cancel giving us 13A (you can treat a magnitude/phase pair as a 2D vector or a complex number for the purposes of adding them together). In the Netherlands, Perilex is also used to connect fans with wired speed control (Switched L2 and L3 pins), but fans may not use three phase power Stein, B. (1997). This time we have 400V RMS across the load so each of our 3KW loads would be drawing 7.5A RMS. History of the "California connector" used in mid-sized distros?". forums.prosoundweb.com . Pin, 5 Pin – With each of the 10A 20A 32A options we also have a variant which has a 5th pin added in the centre. This is where the Neutral wire is connected. A stage pin connector (SPC), or grounded stage pin (GSP), is a connector used primarily in the theatre industry for stage lighting applications in the United States. Stage pin connectors are generally used for conducting dimmed power from a dimmer to stage lighting instruments, although occasionally they can power other equipment. Williams, N.; Sargent, J.S. I imagine all others of that sort of power will be similar. Where it is necessary to run separate feeds through multicable, the Socapex 19-pin connector is often encountered on theatre and studio lighting rigs. Throughout Europe, a common use of industrial power connectors is in the entertainment and broadcast industries.

I guess what I was thinking was that although the current in each phase would be 13 amps, because they never coincide you wouldn't simply add them up when considering a single phase equivalent, i.e. that the 3-phase power calculation would be 400 x 13 = 5200, not √3 x 400 x 13.
