About this deal

This is almost a photographic record of Bowie's kick-off into stardom as he is about to release "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars". Now, I can't really give an objective review because I'm too much in love with this period of Bowie's career. Celebrating 50 years of Ziggy Stardust, the Anniversary Edition presents Moonage Daydream as the authors intended. Legendary rock photographer Mick Rock is often referred to as 'The Man Who Shot the Seventies', for his iconic images of Syd Barrett, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Queen, the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Blondie, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc. Twenty years later, it remains the closest readers will get to understanding Bowie through his own words.

I would also literally draw out on paper with a crayon or felt tip pen the shape of a solo: the one in 'Moonage Daydream', for instance, started as a flat line that became a fat megaphone-type shape and ended as sprays of disassociated and broken lines. The added dimension is that DB has written notes for many of them, explaining what was happening, how he felt at the time or identifying other people in the frame. The show was hugely popular, catapulting him to stardom as he toured the UK over the next six months and creating, as described by Buckley, a "cult of Bowie" that was "unique—its influence lasted longer and has been more creative than perhaps almost any other force within pop fandom" (Buckley, 2005).

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. He disliked flying and took trains and boats, interacting with others and observing the world around him. There were colour pop mags and several of the pictures featured in this fantastic book were on my bedroom wall. Along with the familiar images are some photo's that I have never seen before and with an entertaining narrative from Bowie Himself this is a feast of Sound and Vision. Moonage Daydream is an essential collector’s item for any Bowie fans, especially if Ziggy was your favourite character. His sharp, often humorous text discusses the origins of the Ziggy Stardust stage persona, comments on Mick Rock’s photographs and gives unprecedented insight into Ziggy’s stratospheric two-year career. Alongside over 600 photographs taken by Mick Rock, Bowie's personal and often humorous commentary gives unprecedented insight into his work and the creation of his most memorable persona. This book took me back to the 11 year old school boy and is a must for a Bowie fan, or even for the mildly curious.

To celebrate this 50th Anniversary the Moonage Daydream book (endorsed by David Bowie and Mick Rocks estate) has been published. It’s a massive coffee-table art book, with lavish images of Bowie in the Seventies from photographer Mick Rock.

Most of his early costumes were designed by Freddie Burretti and later Kansai Yamamoto, his inspiration ranged from kabuki theatre, Japanese culture, his mentor Lindsay Lemp, to Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. which] features a 15,000-word text by Bowie, who's hardly ever gone on record, certainly not at such length and with so much detail, about Ziggy and the glam era. I really liked Bowie's forthrightness sharing his creative process and influences from friends, Japanese designers, Kubrick, and other musicians. For some reason they thought we were big time dealers rather than 3 stupid 17 year olds up from sticks.Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed.

He was monumental in bringing Iggy Pop and Lou Reed to the UK for the first time and was the ultimate king of glam rock. His sharp, often humorous text discusses the origins of the Ziggy Stardust stage persona, comments on Mick Rock's photographs, and gives unprecedented insight into Ziggy's stratospheric two-year career.
