About this deal

The second because, well I’m quite vulnerable to the winter bleus, and reading all those reviews it pretty much sounded like this would make them even worse. It lasts quite a bit, doesnt project a lot but nevertheless for the cost as a daily fragrance you get an amazing scent. I’ve been curious about Encre Noire for a long time but have been busy with the ten thousand other scents I want to try.

Almost immediately I feel a sense of acceptance with how things are and stop struggling with myself. To me, encore noir a l'exteme is far and away better and easier to wear than either 40 knots or spicebomb extreme. I'd recommend it up until temperatures outdoors start overtaking room temperature by a few centigrade. The fragrance doesn't really change much, for me it smells the same from the beginning until it's gone which is fine as I like it overall. I tried it again a few days after the initial test and had the same reaction, I lasted about 45 minutes before and I had to scrub. Many products with the Premium Beauty badge are also used by professionals in salons and spas but are designed and available for home use.

Orris and patchouli (which is admittedly a difficult note for me) almost certainly contribute as well to this dirtiness, but it's the sweet top notes that really mess with your mind. I got this a couple of weeks ago because I like woods, and I like vetiver, and I fucking LOVE incense. The sport actually has the most distinct vetiver note so if you're a vetiver fan you'll probably appreciate that one the most.

Some people may be more sensitive to some of its facets resembling organic glue or burning plastic, but to me it's just burning wood. I say it's perfect in spring and it's absolutely exquisite on a rainy day in summer, it can be a great signature scent in fall/winter too. It does come off as 'thicker' and 'darker' though, so a bit less versatile and more difficult to wear than Encre Noir (and indeed Encre Noir Sport). An absolutely wonderful Cypress, a light breeze of Bergamot, then some more Vetiver and the sandalwood/patchouli remnants on the skin at the end. The scent is still great (especially in a first 2 hours), but after that time it becomes sour and quiet.

Whenever I smell this and close my eyes I instantly feel teleported alone deep into a cool foggy, mossy, piney forest in the Pacific Northwest - though I have never even been to the USA (lol). Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme Eau de Parfum is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men and was created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. Disappointing longevity for an EDP but on the other hand you can pick it up for ~20eur which is dirt cheap for a fragrance like this one so you can go crazy with extra sprays.Encre Noire may not seem like an obvious choice, especially when we have vetiver gold standards like Guerlain Vétiver and Frédéric Malle Vétiver Extraordinaire. The label's distinctive aesthetic along with luxurious materials and technical prowess culminates in this mysterious and powerful fragrance, housed in a sleek black bottle. EN a L'Extreme is wonderful: vetiver, cypress, resins and incense with something very slightly powdery and minimally sweet at the base that brings everything into balance.

Masculine and full of personality, Lalique's Encre Noir eau de parfum is a hymn to vetiver and a praise to modernity. This is a wood forward fragrance with a complex and warm blend of oud, vetiver (grass), mint, powder and musk (patchouli), incense, and sandalwood. But I didn’t appreciate the degree to which cypress actually contributed to that smoky, woody, earthy accord. However the perfumer I think put all the focus on making the scent itself perfect regardless of how it performs. While there are some obvious differences between Sycomore EDT and EN a l’Extreme (ENALE), I am very glad that I made this purchase. Having to bury my nose in my wrist to get any of it is annoying, but this is quite an enjoyable cool, chemical sort of scent. Projection, longevity on my skin was exactly as you can find in many of the reviews, but suddenly the perfume started to underperform? I enjoy Encre Noir A L’extreme, it’s a really difficult fragrance to pull off that has initial cypress (I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s unique) and dry wood notes, dries down after 45 mins to earthy vetiver and incense. A vibrant body combining the mysterious notes of vetyver Bourbon and vetyver Haïti, the enticing notes of Cashmere wood and musks.
