About this deal

From an early age, Trisha Wolfe dreamed up fictional worlds and characters and was accused of talking to herself. It wasn't all that attractive, and being a pacifist - murderers and serial killers and people who take other peoples lives in general? But London hides a secret- a deadly past that if were to come out, could destroy not just her career, but her entire life. And as his trial looms closer, and his connection to London grows stronger the tension proportionally increases.

I loved the pull between out two main characters and the sexual tension that came with it, the book seemed to focus more on this rather than the overarching plot which I really enjoyed.

and Grayson Pierce Sullivan (inmate number six, one, four) a convicted killer (the Angel of Maine) that London is psych analysing his disturbed clinical behaviours. Initially it seems like the motive is for Grayson to get out of custody, and make London fall in love with him, but as the story slowly unravels, you realize that there are layer. So right this second I closed that last page off and I’m sitting here flabbergasted, reeling, gob smacked, running over everything I just read, trying to make sense of it, twists and turns that had me spinning like a spinning wheel out of control, such a unique, suspenseful, things are not so black and white as they may seem, a nail biting read that has me wanting, needing, craving, stalking the next book in this series. And I think there isn’t a better way to go, because so much happens that if I knew about it I wouldn't have had so much fun reading this book. Everything that happened during and after Grayson's arraignment scene I felt very indifferent towards. It's been a while since I've read something that had me all invested and anxiously anticipating the next course of actions. That said, I did feel like the romance takes a backseat to the psychological thriller aspect of this book, which is totally fine; however, that might also be why I find myself less than highly motivated to pick up book two - which is surprising what with how much I enjoyed this one. The way Sullivan and London interacted with each other and exposed each other's weaknesses and darkest fears, amazing.Helping convicted serial killers try to understand themselves a little better and find out what makes their compulsion to kill is why Dr. Lei non è affatto intimidita da quest'uomo, non solo perchè è sempre ammanettato durante le loro sedute, ma perchè fa parte del suo lavoro capire le persone come lui, capire cosa gli passa per la testa mentre fanno queste cose orribili. i have to stop believing when i saw someone saying "they found a book similar to mindfuck" because it never is? Their story is not an easy story to read, it’s dark, gritty, and sick but like a train wreck you can’t help but look at the destruction left behind, I feel like I’ve been put through the wringer, my mind is a jumbled mess for loving this as much as I did.

This book set out to take the Robin Hood complex with it's romance, we saw the equally deranged and broken thought processes of both Grayson and London. I saw evil in this story and I damn sure heard it so that saying needs to go sit in a corner right now and take a nap. Criminal psychologist London Noble is made to take on a new patient, a serial killer, Grayson Pierce Sullivan, who has killed nine people, yet none of their bodies have ever been recovered. I'm a professional sarcasm enthusiast, slow-burn romance addict, and honestly an idiot prone to random acts of entirely unprompted ranting over whatever story I've presently been hooked onto.Wolfe sets a very somber tone from the very beginning, and the tension wraps itself around you like a tight thread urging you to turn the pages without halt. The way they were self aware, always in each other's head and catching up with what game the other one was trying to play makes this more enjoyable because they weren't each other's victim.

As she unravels the traps, her sanity tested with each game, she’s forced to acknowledge the true evil in the world around her. This is by far one of my favorite reads of the year and I won’t be telling you that I think you should read it. Getting a new patient wasn’t in the cards for her but when she realizes it’s the infamous killer Grayson Sullivan, London knows that there’s no stopping what is about to happen. London Noble, a criminal psychologist, provides rehabilitation to inmates and convict murderers under the pretense of helping them, but in reality she’s no better than the criminals she treats.

I liked watching her narcissistic, I-will-always-be-the-last-man-standing tendencies rise to the surface, but aside from that she was all over the place.
