About this deal

The suction power was also a big surprise as I feel like it works really well as a vacuum in itself as well as having the extra wash function. It's similar to the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro in terms of overall build quality, with a body made mainly from hard plastic and an aluminum wand.

I opted for the gentle wooden floor setting and pushed and pulled it back and forth but, alas, the wooly roller remained dry. This time it took a few sweeps to really get most of the stain out but there was still a bit of a mark at the end. Manoeuvrability is pretty good, too, with the flexible joint to the floor head making it easy to corner and move around furniture. Able to vacuum and clean at the same time, the Bissell CrossWave Cordless is a versatile and quick tool for dealing with hard floors. For us, this was in our kitchen, which is not ideal as it means this tool is on show all of the time. The roller itself measures nine inches (about 23cm) in width and is made from a soft wooly material with several extended bristles for scrubbing obstreperous substances off the floor. Designed to tackle everything from spilt cereal, milk, and coffee to muddy footprints left by family and pets. There are two surface settings that you can select with a handle-mounted switch: 'Area Rug' or 'Hard Floor'. One word of warning: you can only clean rugs marked with a W or WS cleaning symbol on it; if your rugs don’t have this, avoid using this product as you may cause damage. Simple controls, great performance and a neat charging station makes this a great all-in-one tool, but if you’ve got lots of hard floors to clean in one go, the fixed battery may be a limiting factor.

We recently stripped our living room of the old tattered carpet that had been down before we moved in (and discovered these beautifully weathered black ones). It’s expensive, though, so if your budget is smaller then check out my guide to the best hard floor cleaners has alternatives. Secure Trust Bank PLC (register number 204550) is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA.The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is effectively a cordless version of the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro hybrid vacuum mop. Let us know in the discussions if you come across another variant of this vacuum, and we'll update our review. There will be times, mind, when you will need to remove the dirty water container and rinse it under a sink, especially if the catch filter is clogged with hair or other unsightly muck.

After using this machine you will want to press and hold the button that looks like a fan, just under the display, and it will begin a (very loud) 30-second self-clean.litres, so you’ll likely have to empty it a couple of times for each full tank of cleaning solution. This model offers 30 minutes of run-time from the powerful 36V battery: that’s five more minutes than the standard CrossWave Cordless. That said, it's easier to maneuver and does just as good a job when vacuuming debris or scrubbing away stains on bare floors. Running the cleaner through on vacuum mode, it picked up most of it when running the head along the skirting.

It can even cope with rugs, although we didn't find that cleaning performance was quite as good here. jobs in one, the CrossWave Cordless Max can vacuum debris, wash and dry multiple floor surfaces in one go. If you’re in the market for an exceedingly competent hard floor cleaner that tackles all types of flooring including sealed wood with consummate aplomb, the Bissell CrossMax Cordless is the machine for you. Bissell has put very simple controls on the front and there are dedicated buttons for hard floor and area rug cleaning modes; these adjust how much cleaning solution is released, with more for the area rug setting. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max does a good job dealing with stains when used with the Multi-Surface cleaning formula. You’re supposed to be able to quickly plonk the machine on the cleaning plinth but in reality you first have to align the rear of the unit with a recessed port on the cleaning plate and it’s not very intuitive because a) you can’t see what you’re doing and b) the tiny sprung lid to the charging point appears to occasionally stick. There are two separate tanks, a clean water tank mixed with BISSELL cleaning formula and a second tank that collects the dirty water. I can’t really find anything negative to say about the design of the machine itself or its performance. As my floors are mostly comprised of wood, I’m very cautious about adding too much moisture lest the floorboards start warping or bulging.
