I take this back somewhat, while season 5 onwards is better overall, with less grain, there is still a fair amount of cropping, however it's obviously been done on a shot-to-shot basis (which is good at least) and some shots are almost a straight expand, but it's still pretty haphazard. And while Star Trek is a profitable enough franchise to justify the cost of doing this, sadly, a sitcom that will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2013 is not.
