This could be the whisky and depth, I felt it was nit fresh enough for me (I’m female), if you can imagine the woods, aromatics, fresh species from the original in a card and imagine the colour of the liquid, now imagine that ‘darker’, heavier in the aromatics and woods. This fragrance will be a big complimenter getter and it'll be so refreshing to smell something new on a man than Paco Rabanne One Million or Chanel Blue. The orange blossom gives the fragrance a combination of white floral and citrus (evocative of bitter grapefruit and sweet orange) notes, fresh, aromatic, and pleasant.This version is not summery or spring like the original or the Aqua versions, rather it tends to be used in autumn and winter due to the load of spices and amber, or to be used on nights out. There is a new boozy note of Whisky (or malt) that you can perceive between the opening and the heart. the drydown is ambery salty and maybe a little synthetic but thats a high quality synthetic for sure.
The first 2 times I used this I was very disappointed with the longevity, but I usually apply quite a lot - like 9 or 10 sprays in total.
Slowly sip and savor each beer on its own, and perhaps you'll see my comparing invictus to a Belgian blonde and the intestine version to a dark belgian ale. Unexpectedly (for me) this fragrance scent is VERY similar to the original, despite the different set of notes. It opens with peppery smell and very little whiskey and gave way to ambery-vanilla sweetness all the way till it turns to salty-ambery-musky skinscent after 14hrs.
