The Beco Gemini is a soft structured carrier that works for little ones between 7-35 lbs and offers four carrying positions depending on your baby's size and developmental stage. It is worth noting that compared to other similar carriers - like the Ergobaby Omni Breeze, Tula Explore and the Lillebaby Complete - the Gemini doesn't last as long. She’s more comfortable in it now that she doesn’t need the insert, but can only face inward, which she usually doesn’t have the patience for unless its nap time. Its parent comfort score is just above the average, with nicely padded shoulder straps and waist belt.

The poppers also do up independently on either side so I've even used this carrier in additional needs situations, including once with a baby who was in a leg cast - the poppers meant we could use the wide seat on one side to support the uninjured leg, but reduce the width on the side with the cast to ensure the carrier didn't put pressure on the cast itself. The carrier also has various settings, flaps and adjustments that can help the baby get comfortable enough to sleep (with additional head support) or in the right positions to breastfeed or bottle-feed. Although there are some complaints about material being ‘cheap’ and less reliable than, say, Ergobaby’s, there are not too many reports of Gemini tearing up even when used for couple of children.
It can be used for infants and toddlers, does not need an insert, lightweight, ergonomic and support baby’s back. By 9 months the snaps pop every time I place him in carrier, no matter how carefully I try, how gingerly I walk, how I am SURE to never bend at waist even an inch, no matter face-in or face-out carry. To my surprise, when we are out and about, I have actually used it mostly with my toddler on my back and bub in the pram. There was a time when for some reason I did not notice that I did not buckle up the waistband properly and when I wanted to unbuckle I found that it still was not opening without pressing the safety button.It is also a fab choice for parents who want those extra features and will use them and don't mind the extra bulk. Adjusting the strap length and waist belt is easy so swapping it between parents and carers is no problem, no matter your size.
