I love this book and I remember having it read to me by my head master and thinking the suspense and intonation in his voice was incredible.

This book is perfect for Foundation Stage and KS1 and I enjoyed the book even more after watching Rosen's video performing this aloud!He’s one of the best-loved figures in the children’s book world, renowned for his work as a poet, performer, broadcaster and educational campaigner. Now, as any parent of young children knows, there’s a fine balance to be had in teaching kids to cook and bake. and don’t forget the knife, and don’t forget to put them away, plate in the cupboard, and the knife in the drawer, and back up to bed. For example, Rosen’s story telling is second to none, therefore this can be harnessed and used to develop children’s own story writing and storytelling.

wellearnedpint 2023 has all been a bit much, the primary school lead-up to Christmas is definitely too much. The poet, Michael Rosen, is so very enthusiastic it becomes infectious and it is all through something as simple as eating chocolate cake. It seems like a match made in heaven as we learn what it was like for Michael as a little boy with a sweet tooth.Too often, I find the kinds of chocolate cakes at birthday parties or events spongy and bland, not chocolaty enough to satisfy, not toothsome in the way I believe a cake absolutely should be.
