I love a forbidden love story, so this one was right up my alley. Add in a dangerous guy with serious bad-boy appeal and I'm hooked! It's no wonder that I loved Lily and Romero's story. I’m going to put it on Ice because it feels more of Gianna’s story 😩 I may go to the next one… ugh… Luca’s story got me too excited for the series and bought them like a dummy… this one is such a let down (I mean book 1 is too buuuuut it may be the narrator because I didn’t get too far I was cringing and couldn’t focus) Despite the fact that the story was predictable and like many other mafia romances out there, I didn't care. If it works, it works. This book worked for me. I enjoyed every minute and I don't feel guilty for it.

For the record, I didn't think their father could be any more of a jerk, but apparently I was mistaken because he crosses all limits when he arranges for Lily to be married to a 50-something man, just so he could marry his daughter (who's the same age as Lily).
Romero (24) was a really good character. Not a ton of attention was put on him compared to Lily, but you still understood him. He was an honorable man, but when it came to Lily he was bound by (wait for it) temptation *hehe* eyes. “I missed you so much.” She stroked my hair. “I missed you too. I’m so happy that you’ll live in New York with me.” “First I have to marry Matteo. How am I going to be a wife, Aria?” “He and Luca work a lot. You won’t have to see him very often.” “But still. I’ll have to sleep with him and share a bed with him and try to be civil to him for Godknows-how long. It’s not like he’ll give me another chance to run.” “You’re thinking about running again?” she asked in a small voice. “I don’t know. Maybe.” “Maybe it won’t be as bad as you think. We didn’t get the chance to talk more, because other guests approached us, and while most of them were acting polite, I could see in their eyes that they despised me. I had a feeling that they would show me what they really thought of me the moment Matteo wasn’t around. They soon got their chance. While Matteo and Luca joined the other men, Aria and I strolled toward the buffet. Of course we weren’t alone for long. Soon the bitch Cosima, Matteo’s stepmother Nina, as well as Mrs. Bardoni, and a few other women joined us. Aria’s presence still offered This one started off pretty good and then it just kind of sizzled out for me. I think I liked the other three in this series so much because it was enemies to lovers/forced marriage which is one of my favorite things to read about. If I liked all the players then what went wrong, frankly I'm not really sure but it was missing something it felt a bit drawn out and dare I say boring in places, there wasn't enough story and the relationship unfortunately didn't carry it for me. Finally, something different! I mean, i was getting a little bit tired of those forced loveless marriages.

How was your wedding night?” I couldn’t stop the grin. “Better than yours.” Luca’s eyebrows rose in silent doubt. “So did she put out?” “She did,” I said. “And I was her first.” “Did she tell you that?” Luca asked doubtfully. I must say the middle part of the book was a little monotonous for me, but I can see why it was needed for the story. I was honestly surprised by how strong Lily was.But damn, the moment I entered the suite, Aria was the last thing on my mind. My gaze settled on the girl with the flaming red hair who lounged on the sofa, long legs casually crossed and propped up on the coffee table. At once the long forgotten memory of her rudeness resurfaced and with it my interest in her. She wasn’t the awkward, scrawny girl she used to be.
