While we invest a great deal of time designing tools that are robust and made to a high standard, like all machines, at times they do fail and we like to make things straight forward and easy for you to understand. The Terratek is well designed and one of the best garden vacuums for those who need a lightweight model. It’s only 3 kg in weight even though the machine is 1.2 metres in length. Sure, you might have to empty it a bit sooner than if you had a larger bag but whilst in use it will be extremely light and easy to move for maximum efficiency and convenience. Ultimately, this will save you time and effort.

If you can’t manage a garden vacuum that swings on your shoulder this is the next best thing and it’s certainly worth the money to avoid getting on your hands and knees. The shoulder strap is adjustable to fit short or tall folk and the machine is lightweight enough that I barely needed to use the wheels. In the end, I got them partway, then banged them together on the floor before adding the safety screws to finish the job. Variable speed controls - air speed, measured by metres per second or kilometers per hour), and airflow (measured by cubic meters per hour). Dry leaves are light and easy to shift, but wet, compacted leaves and other debris will need more power. Variable speed control is a useful feature as it allows you to change the speed and power depending on where you’re working – you’ll want to be gentle around plants whereas more oomph will help on lawns.

At only 3.5 kg this garden vacuum is easy to manoeuvre. I didn’t feel tired because the flexible shoulder strap took its weight and left my arms free to direct the tip. The main issue is the blow and vacuum functions are separate pieces. You have to decide whether to blow or vacuum, then fit the correct end piece. When using the leaf blower, start from the edges of your garden and work your way towards the center for more efficient clearing. My wife bought me an early Xmas gift because of the amount of leaves that fall off other peoples trees...this has fit the bill great..It came 90% assembled and in less then 5 mins I was up and running...I like the fact it has more lead then any other and it's got variable speed...Love it..Cheers

There’s no power adjustment, so it’s all the power or no power. This makes it unsuitable for suctioning above gravel or pebbles. Turn the dial to switch between three modes – leaf blower, garden vacuum and mulcher – to make short work of garden maintenance. The two tubes have a very stiff connection and need a good deal of banging or someone with strong hands to force them together. The screws and clip-on shoulder strap plus bag were fairly simple to fit. It took a good 50 turns to get the blower head off, then another 50 to screw on the vacuum head. Don’t give up! It takes time to release.
