In the woods of Northern France, you will find the complex of 20 lakes. It’s only a 3.5-hour drive away from Calais. The name “Bel Eaux – Belsaules” means “the domain of beautiful waters”. There are 4 main carp lakes at this venue, some of which are runs waters while others are much harder but have bigger fish for the more experienced carp anglers. This is a venue that I have enjoyed many a fishing holiday at. It was where my Dad and I enjoyed many carp fishing holidays before he sadly passed away, so this place holds a special place in my heart.

Approximately, the fish population in this lake is around 500 carps, that weigh around 45 to 55 lbs. Biggest catches: As with The Doughnut and Osprey lakes, Heron Lake is located behind the fishing lodge and is accessed by a footpath and bridge which takes anglers over the river. With some good-sized mirrors and commons well into double figures, Old English crucian carp to over 3lbs, bream to a reputed 8lbs, tench to 4lbs-plus, roach, rudd and F1 carp hybrids to 1lb 8oz, Heron is also home to a small number of ghost carp and goldfish. There are 2 lakes here, that, unlike many commercial fisheries, are not overfished which generally allows the guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings, nature and of course the fishing There are chalets and caravans you can stay in, or bring your own touring caravan if that’s your thing. 26. As with the other waters at Celtic Lakes Resort, Churchill has been designed so that every peg has a feature to fish to without anglers needing to worry about crossing other anglers’ lines. The margins have also been heavily planted with reeds and irises to provide cover during the warmer months. The good news is that 12 of these lakes are for fishing holiday residents only. This means even if you decide to have a lie-in, you will always be guaranteed a spot to fish.

For the guests there are several facilities available, like, shower, and toilets. Also, there is a fisherman’s cabin that contains a microwave, kettle, fridge and several charging points. Lunch, fresh water and a mobile home is also available here for the guests. The specimen lake has 40 well spaced pegs each consisting of a gravel or bark topped wooden platform, easily large enough to accommodate two rod pods. The pegs are so well spaced there is easily room to add a similar number of additional pegs in future. This lake is present in between the woods and has a beautiful scenic view that will lift your spirits during carp fishing. These lakes offer the anglers to fish in the mighty river Marne. This river helped in producing some high weight fishes. Structure While no list of Norfolk fishing destinations would be complete without including the Broads, this would be a whole article by itself. There are miles of rivers offering the chance to catch a huge variety of fish. However, there are restrictions on where and when you can fish and of course the waters are often very busy with river traffic. Of course, if you are on a boat already, you’re probably in the best spot!
