After several years of working a variety of jobs – including the not-so-inspiring ones of bartending, restaurant serving and telemarketing – he is now enjoying the very satisfying career of getting to be creative in the book world. In fact, his own story might make for a good book, too. But after finding his niche as a children’s book illustrator and now author, he evidently has his hand on the pulse of publishers and readers, too.

The core aim of our school is to provide every pupil with a Compass for Life. Exciting opportunities to try something new and promote positive mental, physical and emotional well-being. These topics are part of the OCR Gateway GCSE Science course and activate 2 course that students studied last year. A highlight for Wiseman came when Bell was promoting the book on “The Tonight Show.” Host Jimmy Fallon complimented the artwork, and Wiseman heard his name mentioned. More pitches and work came, and with bigger advances he was able to eventually leave his video game company job after initially working 80 hours a week trying to do both.With a deep understanding and dedication to meeting the needs of our students, we are very proud of our comprehensive Relationships, Health and Sex Education framework across all key stages, which wholly meeting the National Statutory Government guidance.Ten Ten’s program, Life to the Full, teaches Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) within the context of a Christian understanding of human sexuality rooted in the wisdom and teaching of the Catholic Church.Given that RSHE is a statutory subject for all schools, we are embracing “the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life” by giving pupils knowledge “that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships” (DFE Statutory Guidance).We will deliver this teaching through the prism of Catholic RSHE. The framework of our curriculum is taken from the Model Catholic RSE programby the Catholic Education Service, which has been highlighted by the Department of Education as a work of good practice. Wiseman, who now has a family of five, admitted he is not nearly as confident in his writing as his illustrating, but is enjoying it all. He is amazed at getting to do what he enjoys after years of hard work. And he gets paid for it and gets additional perks like visiting schools to show his books. Topics include: Personal Development, Online Safety, Law and Crime, Money Management & Finance, Young people and media and Careers and Employability skills.
