About this deal

Dance of the Wailing Blade (Double, all Myrmidesh Painbringers): Add 1 to the damage inflicted this round by hits or critical hits. No fast, tanky units. You have very fast units (all forms of Seeker) and tough units (Myrmidesh with a native 3+), but you don’t have any that are both. Elite numbers- you often won’t have a lot of board presence without Summoning, but then you are are giving up Depravity bonus’. The Myrmidesh are your perfect defensive piece, with one of the highest Toughness available in game together with a decent melee profile.

Locus of Diversion: The Locus of Diversion has changed, no longer having opponents within 6” fight last but now has a 1” range and prevents Pile-in moves until the next combat phase. This makes it look like a really short range Alopex T-shirt/Net cannon. It doesn’t seem that great at first glance, but given how fragile some heroes and units are, this can definitely help survive prolonged combats with horde units. In the end it will depend on your personal preference, but you have several options available. Apart from the Lord of Pain ability or the one from the Blissbrew Homonculus, there are no other synergistic abilities, so when dividing the warband in the 3 groups you could have completely heterogeneous groups each specialized in something. Pros and cons of the Slaanesh Sybarites Just before the launch of the new wave of Slaanesh mortals, Games Workshop presented different tutorials to get ready as soon as you can put your hands on the newest models in town. How rude of him. With a Casting Value of 7 (6 on dice for him), it’s pretty easy to throw out. Gross. Glutos has glimmering piggish eyes and an overlong tongue slobbers across drool-covered chins. His body is hideously swollen and from it emerge tentacles and other signs of Dark Prince's blessings. [4b] History Age of Sigmar

Origins

Archers are definitely an interesting option and worth their cost more in comparison to the cavalry counterpart allowing you to have few of them to cover the gaps in your roster. During the End Times, Sigvald fought the wight king Krell, one of the Great Necromancer Nagash’s most trusted lieutenants, taking a grievous – and scarring – wound. In his fury, Sigvald destroyed the revenant, only to be betrayed and killed by his ally, Throgg the Troll King. Yet none who are touched by the gods can escape their fates so easily… Rebirth There are still three lores for Hedonites, though only one major change to the Lore of Slaanesh, and both are worth mentioning here.

The Sybarites are the mortal followers of Slaanesh, each exemplifying a particular trait brought to the excess, from the lowliest Blissbarb Archer to the mightiest Lord of Pain. The Myrmidesh are an elite warrior-cult who exemplify the pride of the Dark Prince. Each of their blade-sects considers their own favoured technique to be supreme, and on the rare occasions they are proven wrong, their spiteful rage is terrible to behold. As an added bonus, any wounds Shardslash inflicts cannot be negated, making Sigvald one of the most reliable assassins in the game. Did we mention you’re going to want him in your army? They may be a relatively recent addition to the Mortal Realms’ landscape, but the Hedonites of Slaanesh are more eager than most to embrace new and exotic ideas. Let’s see how they fare. Who are the Hedonites of Slaanesh? The blademasters obsessed in pain (provoked or suffered) become Myrmidesh Painbringers, while those that form a pact with lesser demons of Slaanesh share their mortal body with those essences and are called Symbaresh. As was teased on Warhammer-Community this week, there are three different ways to build Hedonites armies now. Lore-wise, these are a bit weird, since they seem to hint at a Hedonites faction that is still hunting for Slaanesh as opposed to one that has actively seen its god return to the fold. Many of these are pulled forward from the last Hedonites book, and a lot of this will be familiar ground to veterans. Still there have been some slight tweaks that we’ll point out where we see them, and we’ll still be calling out some of our favorite rules from the book for those of you new to the faction. Invaders Summoned units are placed wholly within 12” of any hero or your Fane fo Slaanesh and more than 9” away from enemy models. Tips on painting the Hedonites of Slaanesh What changed in the new edition for the Slaanesh Sybarites Dark Revellers? Like all of the god-beholden Chaos armies, the Hedonites of Slaanesh also present you with a huge variety of mortal and daemonic units to intertwine, creating a fascinating mixture of painting and modelling opportunities. These are the Mortal Realms’ premier party animals after all – go wild with your paint schemes and unleash your boundless creativity. We’ve been exploring the Hedonites of Slaanesh all week, so take a look at some example armies you’ll be able to put together, and get a taste of the frankly incredible art and lore if you missed them.

The Hellscourge does not have access to this ability, but the 3″ range can be useful to outsmart those fighters with 2″ range, meaning he can be even further protected from retaliation. Escalating strength- Revel in Depravity generally means your units get stronger as the game goes on. As previously mentioned, the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar is set to shake up a fair few rules and create some interesting opportunities for your Hedonite armies. To find out just how they’ll be adapting to these changes, we asked our playtester and tournament-winning master of all things Slaanesh Mike Willson to give us his thoughts and advice. Before we dive in, note that we won’t be covering everything – stay tuned for an upcoming Start Competing: Hedonism for more depth. Additionally we owe a “thanks” to Games Workshop for providing us with a preview copy of the book. The Major Changes

Agony and Ecstasy

The archers on-foot are the cheapest units of the Dark Revellers. Even the leader is one of the cheapest leaders around. Introduced in the new season of Warcry, Reactions are things that can be done in certain circumstances, but always during the enemy turn. They cost one action, so they can be used only by fighters that have not activated yet or are waiting. There are 3 universal reactions and one specific to each warband: Slakeslash is a Slaangor Fiendblood with higher damage (3/6) and wounds (22) and same ability to perform a bonus run towards a close enemy (remember that now costs a Double not a Triple). The Nobles of Excess focuses on the new Myrmidesh Painbringers and Symbaresh Twinsouls and gives you the ability to re-roll wound rolls if you charged that turn. And the Exalted Speed Knights calls for 6-9 units of various Seeker units and lets D6 of them get a pre-game scout move of 6”. I love this ability – if the new knights end up being worth their points, this could be incredible. The Hellstriders are the “heavy” cavalry of the Hedonites. With Toughness 4 they are between the most resistant in the warband, combined with the 20 wounds (25 for the Hellreaver) and the 2” weapon range they should resist longer than the rest.

Slaanesh has been imprisoned since the Age of Myth by the Aelven Pantheon (Tyrion, Teclis, Malerion and Morathi) in the Hidden Gloaming, a sub-realm between Hysh, the realm of Light, and Ulgu, the Realm of Shadow. If you are searching for details there’s also a tutorial for a Golden Hedonite Armour, different skin tones and Slaangor skin and claws. Godseekers are out there hunting for any trace of the Dark Prince’s whereabouts, which seems odd given the recent story developments around Morathi. But here we are. Their big trait is that they get +1 to charge rolls. In army construction they’re compelled to take Seekers, and they score Depravity points (D3) when their general makes a charge, plus one more if another Godseekers unit does as well. This is easier to score but much less loaded than before. Most units whose points changed got more expensive, giving the faction a bit of a nerf points-wise.Upon succeeding in their trial, the Myrmidesh are granted a curved blade and rune-marked shield, as well as the cult's signature sleek armour. [1a] Sources There are many powerful and versatile units across the Hedonites of Slaanesh faction, and some more, in particular, are about to see some significant benefits from the new edition. Sigvald, Prince of Slaanesh And yet, for all their supplication and sacrifice, the Hedonites find their master’s throne empty, for the God of Excess lies imprisoned between the realms by the sorcery of its aelven nemeses. It is for this reason that roving bands of Slaanesh’s faithful march from realm to realm, seeking out any information they can find that might aid in their god’s release – and slaughtering all who would dare get in their way.
