About this deal

The smooth painted wood was by far the easiest to do and looked best when done, the raw wood absorbed it and required more product per coat, and on the plastic I thought it might not stick but once it dried it adhered well. On items that aren’t usually handled like light fixture or picture frames, it’s a good idea to sand for easier application, but primer isn’t necessary. Like you said, it is perfect for bringing out details and for adding a touch of glam here and there. It must be stiff and not fluffy (a blending brush works well) and you’ll want super fine/soft bristles for best results. A bit of googling did not turn up any side-by-side comparisons of the product, and I don’t trust those digital color sample sheets (rightly so as it turns out).

This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. Yes I think so, unless the metal has been treated/coated with a plastic-y finish, then it would likely wear off easily. The attached photos also include more information on the product and pictures of some of the many projects and materials it can be used on.I used an old broken spatula to try it on plastic, a yardstick for raw wood, and some spray painted molding for a painted surface. Amaco’s Rub 'n Buff Metallic Finishes are great for adding finishing touches to wood, plaster, pottery, metal, leather, or gessoed surfaces. I have tried unsuccessfully so far to make RubnBuff stick to metal items…it seems to stick for a minute but then once you buff it buffs right off…Ive tried leaving for a few days and reapplying and it just goes thick and claggy and once again rubs off.

Whether you are restoring cherished antiques, stenciling, frame finishing, antiquing, experimenting with home decor or restoring treasured items, Ruff n' Buff will produce vibrant, reliable results! In my case, I’m redoing my guest bedroom and wanted to change out some of the black and bronze colors to a beautiful, antique gold.

Rub'n Buff is a wax base metallic finish that is formulated from imported carnauba waxes, fine metallic powders and select pigments.
